uh ok i did the dirty work of changing the layout. now the eyesore is gone. hurray!
Hey... this is my first contribution on this blog. So far, these past few days have been boring.

Let's have a list of who's going where when (in order of earliest to latest) (correct me if I'm wrong).
  1. Cheewei - Cornell: 14th August
  2. Me! - Berkeley: 20th August
  3. Keith - Wesleyan: 24th August
  4. Kin Foong - NYU!: 25th August
  5. Haoxiang - Dartmouth: 1 September
Also, a list of what's happening when:
  1. XK's birthday (& Kim coming back just in time)- 1st August
  2. Mel's back - 10th August
  3. ODACIA - 13th August
We should also need a new layout. Just gotta choose from one of the newer available ones.

I just signed up for TheFaceBook. It's like friendster all over again. Add me at zjinhui.at.berkeley.edu

Okay. Incoherent and all but don't say I never contribute.
Miss the good old gossip in the CB? The lame writings, the scandalous drawings, out-of-point musings and general doodling?

Introducing...the odacxvii blog!

As I mentioned in an email earlier, I realised most of you guys do keep your private blogs, open to public view or not. And for those who don't type their thoughts into words to be published in the Web, they still shamelessly surf the blogs of those who do.

I've sent out email invitations to most of you. If you still don't know what blogging is, think of it as an online CB of sorts. As most of the guys enter uni this year, pursuing further education locally or overseas, chances are that life will split Batch XVII further. So let's take the opportunity to keep in touch through the Net.

And I believe that from what we experienced in JC, there is a bond worth holding on to.

It might not beat the actual meetings, treks, scandals under the stars, basketball, bridge, gel bottles, homework, or other nonsense that we used to do, but blogging is still a wonderful way to maintain a tenuous connection between individuals and groups.

So post away! Updates on your life, be it school or your latest fling or how you are still holding on to your JC crush. Words of depression or mindless optimism, of hope or apathy, of good cheer or bad, of meaning or no.

I want to hear from you, and hope you want to hear from the rest of us.

And may the odac spirit stay strong.
